Inside Service Technician (Motor Rewinder)

Our employees enjoy stable employment, promote from within, above average compensation, RRSP/DPSP plan, and group benefits. We are currently looking for a Inside Service Technician – Motor Rewinder to join our team. Types of serviced equipment can include electric pumps, motors, fans and blowers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspecting cores for defects.
- Inspect and dismantle various types of electric motors to identify the cause of failure.
- Perform rewinding of armatures, stators, and field coils using various types of wire and insulation materials.
- Test rewound electric motors to ensure proper functioning and compliance with industry standards.
- Replace or repair defective parts such as bearings, brushes, and commutators.
- Assemble and reinstall rewound electric motors in equipment, ensuring proper alignment and balance.
- Investigate issues with in-shop repair of customer equipment:
- Minor machine shop work such as impeller trimming.
- Parts cleaning and cabinet sandblasting.
- Mechanical seal and bearing replacement.
- Complete estimates and repairs of electric pumps, motors, fans and blowers.
- Provide detailed information about repairs completed to the Service Coordinator.
- Complete all appropriate paperwork on-time, clearly and legibly.
- Care and maintenance of company tools as defined in Policy and Procedure manual.
- Communicate all issues to the Inside Service Foreman.
Qualifications:
- Electric Motor Systems Technician journeyman certificate. 3rd or 4th year Apprentice will be considered if experience is relevant.
- Experience in electric motor rewinding and repair.
- Familiarity with various types of motors and their components.
- Ability to use hand and power tools for disassembly and reassembly of motors.
- Proficiency in testing and diagnosing motor issues using specialized equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical safety procedures.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications and diagrams.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy equipment and parts.
